Niacinamide/Niacotinamide: I am allergic to vitamine B3!

Lately I've been looking into creating some kind of gel or serum for my face to avoid using a face cream that with this heat feels like a bit too much. You may have seen the recipe for a lenitive tonic gel, which I quite liked, and I made another one for impure skin. Well... both of them, plus a serum I was quite hopeful about, have given me an annoying allergic reaction... on my face!

Since all three things I tried have only in common the niacinamide, well, not much to think about. They are quite different in terms of gellification, oils, emulsionant, and other ingredients. So, I decided to turn this into a learning experience.
The first thing to do is to check the PH of the concoctions. They are all between 5 and 6.5 which is perfect. I added to the list of irritants a liquid tonic I made, it doesn;t have niacinamide, but it has lisine, and if I understood correctly.... it's a precursor of the new B3 niacinamide presentation.
So, nothing left to do but remake all the preparations WITHOUT this raw material and see what happens. And so I did!!!!

I just tried the sierum and the lenitive gel... They work!!!!! I have no irritation, no redness... Finally! They work as humectants, maybe I'll use them between washing my face and my multivitaminic face cream.
At least I figured out what was the problem! Now, I'm sure this is just my reactive skin...
