Lenitive Tonic Gel (for impure skin)

So... I'm trying to design a good morning/evening routine for my face. Very hot Italian summer is making it hard because I have to find something that will not make me sweet, that will be astringent, but also lenitive (the pleasures of mixed skin that can be dry and greasy at the same time!), I want something that will help reduce the number of black spots and pimples, but will also add flexibility to the skin and will keep it opaque during the day. Am I really asking for so much!?

I have been using my Cleansing Milk for a few weeks now and I absolutely love the feeling of fresh face it gives me. I don't use it as a make up removal, though I have tried it with light foundation and waterproof mascara and works well. It's a soft detergent for the face and I easily use it three times a day, it leaves my skin opaque and feeling clean! Now, what's next?

I created this lenitive tonic to use after washing my face. I created a slightly diverse one that's liquid but I prefer this one. Being a gel seems to be absorb better by the skin and I think it helps the active ingredients to be absorbed too. I just take a drop of this gel on my finger and pass it on my face. Because I chose certain ingredients it has the cool effect of leaving my face opaque and hydrated, as well as offer certain lenitive properties, since I wanted it to soften or smooth my skin as well (especially those parts in which being 33 doesn't seem to matter... I thought acne was a teenage thing!).

So, here you have the recipe:

Water to 100

Carbopol Ultrez 21 0.3

Xanthan Gum 0.1

Glicerine 3

Niacinamides (vit pp) 2 (it can go up to 3)

Panthenol 1

Sodium Hialuronate in a 1% solution 1 (it can go up to 2)

Calendula Extract 1

Alcohol 0.5

Conservant 0.6

Perfume (optional, since it's for the face maybe just a few drops of an apporpiate EO)

Bring PH to 5/5.5

I prepared the Xanthan Gum gel with 1/3 of the water, I dissolved the Xanthan in the glicerine and then added the water slowly while mixing with a spoon. Some poeple like to leave it for a few hours till it forms a nice gel, but I am quite impatient and I do like how the bubbles look like in this gel, so I used my hand mixer.

With the rest of the water I prepared the carbomer gel. I put the water in a becker and pour the carbomer as rain on top. Let it dry for 10 minutes and then mixed with a hand mixer too. Then I added the Xanthan gel to the carbomer gel and mixed well.

As I said this process leaves loads of bubbles but I do like them (you can see them in the picture!)

At this point I corrected the PH to 6, in order to have the carbomer reach its perfect consistency. Now there is only adding the rest of the ingredients one by one and mix. I did not use much perfume on this gel, only a drop of an hypoallergenic fraganze.
